Delta Phi Alpha 2018 Induction Ceremony

Six new members were welcomed into UNCG’s chapter of the National German Honorary Society at its annual induction ceremony on February 28, 2018. Sarah Kassem, Katia Keller, Dylan Morris, Nebyou Mulugeta, Clayton Petty, and Madison Wright all represent the excellence in the study of German that Delta Phi Alpha seeks to recognize. Congratulations on your accomplishments! In addition to the induction proceedings, the evening included a game of German-themed Jeopardy. Current and past inductees, their family members, and German Program Faculty enjoyed the spirited competition. The program concluded with refreshments and lively conversation among all attendees.

The National German Honor Society, Delta Phi Alpha, seeks to recognize excellence in the study of German and to provide an incentive for higher scholarship. The Society aims to promote the study of the German language, literature and civilization and endeavors to emphasize those aspects of German life and culture which are of universal value and which contribute to humanity’s eternal search for peace and truth. UNCG’s chapter Kappa Eta was founded in 1992 and holds yearly initiation ceremonies, usually in early December. Our members maintain the German Club, host Kaffeestunde, and engage with all things German across campus and the Greensboro community. For more information, please contact the German Program Director, Dr. Ben Davis (brdavis5@uncg.edu).
