The German Program welcomed German students Nicollette Boykins, Ellis Hiser, Caraline Malloy, Avery McGinn, Eva Moniz, Gavin Parker, Dae TerBush, and Marlas Whitely into UNCG’s chapter of Delta Phi Alpha, the National German Honorary Society, at its annual induction ceremony on March 15, 2021. The initiation ritual, coordinated by chapter advisor, Dr. Ben Davis, was followed by a lively game of Germany-themed trivia organized by Dr. Carola Dwyer and the German Club. Congratulations to our new members!

The National German Honor Society, Delta Phi Alpha, seeks to recognize excellence in the study of German and to provide an incentive for higher scholarship. The Society aims to promote the study of the German language, literature and civilization and endeavors to emphasize those aspects of German life and culture which are of universal value and which contribute to humanity’s eternal search for peace and truth. UNCG’s chapter Kappa Eta was founded in 1992 and holds yearly initiation ceremonies, usually in early December. Our members maintain the German Club, host Kaffeestunde, and engage with all things German across campus and the Greensboro community. For more information, please contact the chapter advisor, Dr. Ben Davis (brdavis5@uncg.edu).
