Dancers at LLC Hands on culture jam

From Flamenco to ASL: LLC’s ‘Hands-On Culture Jam’ Showcases Global Traditions

On Monday, March 31, the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (LLC) held its annual Hands-On Culture Jam, with the goal of sharing and celebrating the diverse range of abilities and cultures within the UNCG community.

The event featured an array of hands-on mini workshops, consisting of multiple interactive tables for students and the public to visit, each led by an LLC faculty member, staff, graduate assistant, language students, or other members of the UNCG campus and community. These table leaders presented a brief “bite-sized” workshop on a culturally relevant skill, such as learning to sign your name in ASL, cutting Papel Picado, or dancing Flamenco.
