Arabic
Arabic at UNC Greensboro
The Arabic language, Literature and Culture program involves broad courses that introduce the fundamental elements of modern standard Arabic language within a cultural context. It helps students develop skills to effectively communicate in Arabic both spoken and written forms of the language. Emphasis is placed on the progressive development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills as well as academic experiences that highlight oral and written literacy, literary analysis, and cross-cultural studies. Upon the completion of the program, students will build confidence to appropriately interact with diverse populations in the Middle East.

On-Campus Immersion
Arabic Language Club
ALC is a new student organization that hopes to achieve two broad goals. Firstly, to create a safe space for non-Arab students to develop a deeper understanding of the diverse Arab cultures and dialects in the world. Secondly, to also create a space for Arabic-speaking students to practice their innate or burgeoning language skills. We meet biweekly: cultural/social meetings on Mondays, and language-development meetings on Fridays. Everyone is welcome to either, but Mondays are the most accessible for the inexperienced!
