Dr. Lederach is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in the field of conciliation and conflict mediation. He has provided consultation for peace-building efforts in Somalia, Northern Ireland, Colombia, the Basque Country, the Philippines, Tajikistan, Nepal and in East and West Africa. He has also helped develop and lead hundreds of training programs in conflict transformation, mediation and international peace-building in 35 countries around the world. He has written widely on Conflict Resolution and mediation.
The book translation was part of the peace building project in higher education in Iraq which is implemented by the Iraqi Al-Amal Association in collaboration with the UNDP and Innsbruck University in Austria. The offer of translating the book came after an invitation from Al-Amal Association in 2019 to the translator, Noor Ghazi who worked with the team in Iraq to offer peace building workshops in Arabic to the youth in 2019. It is a great addition to the Peace Studies library in the Middle East as this book is considered to be the 9th translated book by academics in the area.
