Personal Statement

Taught American Sign Language (ASL) to high school and college students at Wilson Community College since August 2019. I am a new Full-Time ASL Lecturer under the ASL program with Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Department. As a faculty member, my goal is to share my extensive knowledge and experiences as a culturally Deaf individual with UNCG students. My main purpose as an ASL instructor is to educate and encourage my students to gain more knowledge and better understand the importance of the acquisition of ASL as a second and target language, Deaf Culture, and more.
