Personal Statement

I consider it a privilege to serve on the faculty of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The most rewarding aspect of my career has been the opportunity to establish personal contact with other faculty and with students at every level of study. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to instill in my students the willingness and desire to set high personal standards, to take on difficult academic challenges even at the risk of failure, and to accept their limitations without compromising their aspirations. I view the acquisition of language skills as a lifelong process.
